Tammie Davis Wins 2011 Female Country Artist of the Year for the Carolina Music Awards

Raleigh, North Carolina, United States of America (August 15, 2011) Tammie Davis, North Carolina native and Nashville Recording Artist has won the Carolina Music Awards Female Country Artist of the Year for 2011. Tammie has been nominated for the past three consecutive years. The 2011 Carolina Music Awards’ ceremony awarded the top artists and groups/bands in North and South Carolina for 2011 which included Country, Bluegrass, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B along with models, DJs and producers of the year. Tammie is also a recipent of the Queen City Music Awards Female Country Artist of the year held in Charlotte, NC. 

Since 2008, the Carolina Music Awards have been held in Raleigh, NC at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The goal of the Awards is to empower regional Artists by giving them a platform for recognition and provide tools to support and boost their career to the next level. The nomination process involves managing and program directors from radio stations who vote from a list of online fan nominations submitted for NC/SC artists, groups and bands. Also supporting the Carolina Music Awards this year are music industry celebrities like Randy Travis, Roberta Flack, Darius Rucker, and Petty Pablo. The Carolina Music Awards’ Ceremony took place on July 17, 2011. The Carolina Music Awards plans to expand in the coming years by adding additional music categories, sponsors and events.

Tammie has been around the block with her National Radio single, “Tall Dark and Lonesome” which charted on Music Row for thirteen weeks and garnered heavy airplay on Billboard/Media Stations like WKML of Fayetteville, NC. Tammie's debut CD, ‘It’s a Beautiful Life’ has been added to Pandora.com, countless overseas and internet radio stations, and currently is available on iTunes, Amazon.com, CD Baby, and TammieDavisMusic.com.
